Hooray for spring at last!

We have a newsletter special on some affordable luxury Champagne. So get set for the spring races and the holidays.

This month's special.

We have been so happy with this delicious Champagne - Achille Princier Grande Tradition NV. We spent a long time looking for a good value Champagne and then found this. This is called a grower Champagne, meaning the same producer grows the grapes and makes the Champagne (rather than selling the grapes to the big brands for someone else to make the Champagne). This Champagne received 2 stars in one of the main French wine guides the "Guide Hachette", which means it outscored many well known brands. It is being sold in several famous restaurants.

We usually sell this for $54 per bottle or $49 in a six pack. Until October 5th take another $20 off per 6 pack with code ACHILLE6. (This works out to be under $46 per bottle).

No not a movie star, a winemaker! Maxime Mansard the producer of Achille Princier.

Our current favourite: Chateau Beycheville Grand Bateau 2014 for $32 per bottle.

This is a new vintage of this popular white white which is 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

The same team that produces the prestigious classified Chateau Beychevelle red wine makes Grand Bateau. Chateau Beychevelle is a classified Saint-Julien cru classé producer with a tradition of growing vines on the Garonne gravel of the Médoc dating back to the Middle Ages.

Our Tasting notes: Aromatic nose with buttery-vanillin oak notes and tropical fruit. On the palate the wine is round, fleshy with wonderful minerality and delightful tropical fruit flavours. Lovely balance between the oak, fruit and acidity. Excellent finish.

This was a standout wine at the Vinexpo 2015 wine exhibition in Bordeaux. It offers value for money and exquisite drinking. Just drink on its own, enjoy with a pre-dinner platter or seafood and white meats.
