This is an easy drinking merlot blend from the Bordeaux Cotes de Bourg appellation. The vineyards of Bourg face Margaux across the Gironde estuary and offer excellent quality and excellent value for money. This wine is getting great feedback from those lucky enough to taste it. Perfect easy drinking autumn red!
Wine making: Long maceration for 3-4 weeks in small temperature controlled vats. Aged for 12 months in oak
Our tasting notes: The expressive nose presents notes of red fruits and plums. A delicious mouth-filling wine, with lovely fruit and minerality, good balance and nice tannins. This wine offers very good value for money wine. A good example of what the small producers in Bordeaux can do, especially in good years (such as the 2010 vintage).
Ready to drink now but will improve with one-three years cellaring.
This wine received a silver medal in Paris and Aquitaine wine shows (a much lower proportion of wines receive medals at French wine shows compared to Australia so this equates to an excellent wine). USA Wine Enthusiast magazine also gave it 86 points .
