Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh

Pacherenc de Vic Bilh

Within the same geographic area as Madiran, this appellation produces white wines. (ie the grapes are grown in the same area. Red wines are labelled madiran, white wines are labelled Pacherenc du Vic Bilh)

The dry white wines of Madiran are called Pacheranc du Vic-Bilh Sec.

The sweet wines are simply called Pacheranc du Vic-Bilh and are made from Petit and Gros Manseng. The grapes do not attract noble rot, but hang on the vine late into the season to produce a rich evaporated juice, balanced by fine acidity with amazing aromas – pineapple, grapefruit, mango, spiced bread, coffee and mint. The influence of the Atlantic breeze lengthens the ripening period for the Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng grapes to produce great sweet wines.  Producteurs Plaimont harvest over 5 selections from the end of October to New Year’s Eve.
