Our French Malbecs were well received by an enthusiastic crowd. In fact we were told by the organisers that we sold more Malbec than all the other producers at the event put together!

This months wine deal: Chateau Jolys Jurançon Sec 2011.

This month we have a special deal on one of our favourites. Many of you will be familiar with this wine. We had a bottle recently and loved it with some Thai noodles. We received this message from a customer this week "at the first sip you are very unsure, mentally, due to the golden colour you expect a lot of fruit and sweetness ...but take another mouthful and you realise it's full of fruit, rich and very well rounded."

We think it has the richness of chardonnay but with crisp finish more like a sauvignon blanc. This wine has won multiple awards and its young, female wine-maker Claire Bessou-Latrille is a rising star!

Huon Hooke gave it 92 points and named it "Best Import" in the Sydney Morning Herald.

We have lots of food and wine events coming up in the next few months….

The opening night of the French Film Festival in Albury Wodonga is coming up on Friday 1st May. Tickets will include movie, nibbles and a glass of DiscoverVin wine. Tickets via Regent Cinemas Albury.

On the Queen's Birthday week-end we have been invited to do a chocolate and Champagne tasting with Renaissance Chocolates in Rutherglen! Details to follow. If you are going to the North East of Victoria please drop in and see us on that week-end!

We will be going to the Brisbane French Festival again this year (week-end of July 11th.)This will be the place to be to celebrate Bastille Day and all things French!

And in Melbourne on the weekend of July 18th we will be pouring wine at the Bastille Day French Festival at the State Library.
